FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is it?

The Rattle-Snaker is a tool for inserting rattles and weights into any “soft plastic” or “rubber worm” lure.

Why would I want to do that?

Many popular gamefish are well known to be attracted to certain sounds. Most hard lures contain rattles and noise elements for this very reason. Muddy water, stained water, heavy clouds, low light and night-time force fish to rely on their otoliths (fish “ears”) to find prey.

Really?

Fish that prey on crabs, crawfish, shrimp, insects and other sneaky creatures are very sensitive and attuned to the right kind of vibrations and sound. Sound also carries faster in water and a fish will come a long way to investigate a possible meal.

But these rattles aren’t BIG and LOUD enough!

You are probably a bass fisherman, and I get this a lot. Our rattles perform very very well in finesse applications but don’t worry – as Captain Gerry says – USE MORE! A 10 inch worm could probably contain 20 rattles if you really wanted to try.

How do I use the Rattle-Snaker?

It’s fast and easy. Just review the instructions here: www.rattle-snaker.com/instructions.

Does the rattles work?

YES! The Rattle-Snaker has been hugely successful on all types of fish, including Largemouth Bass, Trout, Redfish, Snook, Seatrout, Flounder / Fluke, Striper and many many more! If you can catch it on a soft plastic, you need to try the Rattle-Snaker.

What about the weights?

Rattle-Snaker now offers a pure TUNGSTEN fishing weight perfectly designed for your Rattle-Snaker in the most popular sizes used in rigs like the Neko Rig, Ned Rig, Wacky Worm and Tiny Child Rig. These rigs are highly regarded among advanced bass fishermen but some lure materials and sizes can make them difficult to work with.

Shroom weights, nail weights and screw-in style weights all have their place, but are not ideal when skipping baits through heavy cover and docks or if you have trouble with getting them in exactly right and straight. High tech new lure materials like Z-Man Elaztek are amazing, but difficult to work with in these applications. Thankfully, Rattle-Snaker solves all of that.

I like my Neko and Tiny Child weights to stick out, that way it makes a nice little ‘click’ when it hits a rock or stump on the bottom. Why hide it inside?

Two reasons. (1) Because if its tucked away inside it is less likely to be lost, even after many uses and (2) because that is what the RATTLES are for. Now you get a free ‘click’ even on soft bottom – and only if you choose it. A Z-Man Neko rigged worm with a concealed weight in one end and a rattle in the other is as indestructible as it gets.

I’m out! Where can I get more rattles and weights?
